Volunteer

There are plenty of ways to help us raise vital funds to support those who are affected by dementia.
Where needed, our experienced team can provide support that will help make it an event to remember.

Volunteering is extremely rewarding – it’s a chance to contribute positively to your own community and impact the lives of others, while also enriching your own with new friends, community connections and a strengthened perspective.

Who can help?

Our volunteers are passionate, inspired and want to help make a difference. Whether you can spare a few hours a week or can make a more significant time commitment, we’d love to talk to anyone who is interested in contributing their time towards such an important cause.

What might it involve?

There are a number of ways that our volunteers help make a difference.

  1. Collecting for our annual appeal

Every year we run an appeal collection across Auckland at selected Countdown stores. These are a huge component of our fundraising, and we always welcome more volunteers.

  2. Volunteer regularly for our socialisation groups

These groups run regularly throughout Auckland and are an opportunity for those affected by dementia, their carers and their whanau to connect with others. To keep these groups free of charge, we need volunteers. It’s a great way to meet new people, while giving back to your community.

  3. Help out at fundraising and educational events

We regularly run or support events that help us raise both funds and awareness. You can do your bit for our community but helping out – we always have a number of roles where we could do with extra help to make the event a success.
